Awards
The White Pine Chapter of
PRSA presents annual awards honoring contributions
to the public relations profession and the community.
Recipients include individuals and organizations, members
and non-members of PRSA.
Any member may make a
nomination, and there is no fee for submission. The
chapter's Board of Directors selects the recipients based
on the nominations received and presents the awards at
the annual awards banquet.
Current Deadline and Submittal Information
Nominations for 2008 awards will be accepted until January 5, 2009. Fax nomination form to chapter vice president, J.J. Boehm, at (989) 790-1978.

Sherry Harrison Spirit of
Public Relations Award
(Named in memory of distinguished White Pine chapter board member, Sherry Harrison.)
Eligible Recipients:
Community leaders or organizations who are not PRSA
members or PR professionals.
Award Criteria:
- Outstanding
contributions to mid-Michigan that exemplify the
practice of good public relations.
- Based on activities
within the past year.
Distinguished PR
Practitioner
Eligible Recipients:
- White Pine chapter members in good standing
- Typically awarded to seasoned PR professionals
Award Criteria:
- Significant
contributions to the community, the White Pine
chapter, public relations profession and/or the
Public Relations Society of America over the course of a career
- Overall superior
performance in meeting day-to-day professional
public relations responsibilities
Member of the Year
Eligible Recipients:
- White Pine
chapter members in good standing
- Active in the public relations profession three years or more
Award Criteria:
- Outstanding contribution to the chapter and/or to the profession
within the past year
- Must be supported with
examples
Newcomer of the Year
Eligible Recipients:
- Newer White Pine
chapter members in good standing
- Active in the public
relations profession three years or less
Award Criteria:
- Demonstrated potential
for becoming an outstanding member of the
profession
- Must be supported with
examples
Journalist of the Year
Eligible Recipients:
Print or broadcast journalists in the mid-Michigan area,
including Flint
Award Criteria:
- Outstanding
contributions in the field of journalism, as
supported by examples
- Based on
accomplishments over the years and within the
past year
